European Vegas planned for Spain

Not many people have even heard of Zaragoza, let alone visited Spain's fifth largest city. But if all goes to plan, in a few years' time, it will become one of the most popular destinations in Europe at least for gamblers.
|
|
A huge gambling and leisure resort is planned to be built over the next decade in the Monegros desert, located between Madrid and Barcelona, and just a short train ride away from Zaragoza. The $25 billion project includes 32 hotel-casinos, a golf course, stadium, bull ring, race course and 2 theme parks.
Provisionally named Gran Escala, the site will attract at least 12 million visitors per year and the regional government hopes that up to 30,000 jobs will be created by the venture, as well as giving a boost to tourism.
The project's investors predict the large scale resort will attract gamblers from all over Europe, providing the Vegas experience much closer to home.
